NSW Digital Driver Licence

NSW Driving Information

The NSW Digital Driver License is the digital version of the NSW Driver License available through the Service NSW app.

For all driver license holders, the NSW Digital Driver License has the same legal status as the plastic driver license in NSW and is accepted more broadly interstate. It’s optional, doesn’t replace the plastic card and is available at no additional cost. There are conditions for using the digital driver license that holders need to know about.

The NSW Digital Driver License is accepted by most pubs and clubs, and NSW Police.

It’s illegal to access your Digital Driver License when driving, including when stationary, unless you’re asked to do so by a police officer. Penalties apply. Visit the Centre for Road Safety for more information.
